Bacnet interface

2 min read

Id #

The Id field shows the internal number of the interface under which it is saved. When creating a new interface, the field is empty. The type of interface is displayed behind it. Both parts are for information purposes only.

Name #

The name of the interface. The name is displayed in selection lists and may also be displayed to users in interface notifications.

Comment #

The comment field is for free use by the integrator. It is used exclusively to document the configuration. You can enter information here, e.g. the purpose of the interface, any special features, etc.

Options #

Here you will find a single checkbox: Deactivated. If you set this checkbox, the interface is deactivated as far as possible. Channels of the interface are still available in the system, but write accesses are no longer passed on to the hardware and read accesses return no value or the last available value.
Deactivating an interface can be helpful if the hardware is no longer connected/defective, or if you want to try something out without the physical devices being addressed.

Local device ID #

Here you enter the device ID with which the Bacnet interface identifies itself in Bacnet. This can be any free ID in the Bacnet system.

Network interface and port #

The network card and port on which the Bacnet interface communicates. The standard port for Bacnet is 47808, but it may be a different port in the specific installation (either for security reasons or if the port is already in use elsewhere).

Standard write priority #

The priority with which data is written from the interface to Bacnet. This priority is used if no priority has been set on the channel.

Enter channels #

Channels for the Bacnet interface can be entered manually via the channel management (e.g. using a list exported from the Bacnet management). However, as Bacnet is able to supply the existing data points on request, it is usually easier and quicker to import the data points via the import function in the configuration menu. Select the Bacnet interface there and the channels for all recognized Bacnet data points will be imported.
