OCPP Interface

1 min read

Id #

The Id field shows the internal number of the interface under which it is saved. When creating a new interface, the field is empty. The type of interface is displayed behind it. Both parts are for information purposes only.

Name #

The name of the interface. The name is displayed in selection lists and may also be displayed to users in interface notifications.

Comment #

The comment field is for free use by the integrator. It is used exclusively to document the configuration. You can enter information here, e.g. the purpose of the interface, any special features, etc.

Options #

Here you will find a single checkbox: Deactivated. If you set this checkbox, the interface is deactivated as far as possible. Channels of the interface are still available in the system, but write accesses are no longer passed on to the hardware and read accesses return no value or the last available value.
Deactivating an interface can be helpful if the hardware is no longer connected/defective, or if you want to try something out without the physical devices being addressed.

OCPP Interface #

This interface provides an access point for charging stations that support OCPP-J. This allows the charging stations to connect to X2B and be controlled. More information here: Charging station

Approved versions #

There are several versions of the OCPP-J protocol, here you select which versions of the protocol are permitted on this interface (at least one). If several protocol versions are permitted, the preference of the charging station determines which protocol version is used. Please note that a charging station can only connect to the interface if it uses one of the approved protocol versions.
Version 1.6 is supported by the majority of common wallboxes, version 2.0.1 is (as of 2024) still rarely supported and less well established.

Automatically approve new charging stations #

If this checkbox is set, every charging station that connects to the interface for the first time is automatically created in X2B. The most important properties of the charging station are automatically recognized and configured. This is simpler, less error-prone and faster than entering the charging station “by hand”. The checkbox should be deselected after setting up the charging stations (to avoid adding a charging station accidentally or maliciously). If the checkbox is off, unknown charging stations are rejected (connection is immediately disconnected).

URL #

The URL under which the charging stations connect to X2B (configuration instructions).
